SmartFlower is excited to attend the American Society of Landscape Architects Expo 2026 next month at the Los Angeles Convention Center on September 16-17th.
SmartFlower will be at Booth #1967. We’ll also showcase an operating SmartFlower at The Greenhouse across the aisle from our booth. SmartFlower CEO Jim Gordon will be presenting, “Solar Energy’s Role in Placemaking and Community Engagement” in The Greenhouse on Thursday, September 17th at 12:15pm.

SmartFlower Celebrates Urban Agriculture
SmartFlower Technical Director Matt Lipsitz hosted a SmartFlower demo at We Grow Microgreens, an urban farm with a mission to share their love for horticulture and educate the community on the power of growing your food. This demo was part of a celebration of Urban Agriculture Week in Boston. A sunny August day was perfect to show off the SmartFlower—it was moving with the sun and generating lots of power for the farm. SmartFlower wants to wish a special thank you to Lisa Evans and Tim Smith, the co-founders of We Grow Microgreens, Matt Lipsitz, and everyone who attended the event! Read more about the event here.
SmartFlowers Shaking It Up with Shakira
SmartFlowers are a prime attraction at music festivals, sporting events, and other entertainment events—giving attendees a unique, sustainable experience! World-renowned artist Shakira is hosting an upcoming stadium residency in Madrid for her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The temporary venue is right at Iberdrola Music, where two SmartFlowers are planted! Our customer, the prominent Spanish utility company Iberdrola, chose SmartFlower for the venue to spotlight their leadership in renewable energy. Back in 2024, these two units made their first appearance at the outdoor concert Mad Cool Festival. This installation was only made possible by our local partner Julio Matilla at SmartFlower Iberia.
Boston’s Sunflower Spectacular
August is the peak of the sunflower season, where you’ll find their stunning golden yellow blooms facing towards the light. For these reasons, sunflowers are naturally associated with happiness. To delight in the vibrant blooms, the SmartFlower team recently visited the Garden at Elm Bank, which features a field of thousands of sunflowers. Since we’re inspired by the beautiful design and engineering of sunflowers, it was amazing to see them in person and experience the joy they bring to people of all ages. Such a lovely day surrounded by nature!
